A lift to campus, from someone already going
Campus Ride matches students who ride a bike to AIUB, NSU or IUB with classmates who need a seat. It is free, it is students only, and it never takes a payment.
How it works
- Say where you are going Where to, where from, and when — right now, later today, or every week.
- See who is on your road Not who lives in your area — who actually passes the point you are standing at, going your way.
- Agree, then ride You each get a four-digit code to check at the kerb, so both of you know you have found the right person.
Is it safe?
It is the honest question, so here is the honest answer: nothing makes getting on a stranger's bike risk-free. What the app does is narrow who the stranger can be, and make sure somebody else knows where you are.
- Everyone signs in with a university email address.
- Every rider offering a seat has had a photo ID and a live selfie checked by a person, not by software. A rider cannot offer a seat without it.
- Your phone number is only shown to someone after you have both agreed to the ride.
- Every ride has a link you can send to a friend or a parent. It shows who you are with, which bike, and the number plate.
- Two separate reports suspend an account automatically, and a person reviews every one of them.
- You can ask to be matched only with students of the same gender.
What does it cost?
Nothing, and the app has no way to take a payment — there is no wallet, no card, no commission. If a rider and a pillion want to split fuel, that is between them and happens in cash, off the app.
Campus Ride is not a taxi service and the people offering seats are not drivers for hire. They are students who were making the trip anyway.
